This section is included in your selections.

This section applies to all development proposals within designated critical aquifer recharge areas which are land and shorelands that have a critical recharging effect on aquifers used for potable water, as further classified in CCC 27.12.610. The intent of this section is to:

(1) To provide water quality protection associated with aquifer recharge areas through the regulation of land use activities that pose a potential contaminant threat or could increase the vulnerability of the aquifer.

(2) Identify, preserve and protect aquifer recharge areas and prevent degradation of the quality of potable ground water.

(3) Recognize the relationship between surface and ground water resources.
