Initiative petitions shall be filed with the Auditor bearing the signatures of registered voters of the county equal in number to no less than 10 percent of the number of voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election. Petitions shall be filed not more than 120 days following registration.

The Auditor shall verify the sufficiency of the signatures on the petition and transmit it together with his or her report thereon to the Commissioners at a regular meeting, not more than 20 days after filing the petition.
